Take control of your creative life by learning the skills you need to earn income for your work.
Give yourself the best chance you can by getting the best support possible.
1:1 coaching is one of the best investments you can make towards the growth of your artistic/creative career.
I coach artists in the early stages of self-employment on:
- understanding the value of what you create and how to authentically communicate that value to others so they will pay you for it.
- defining your art business vision and offering. If you have a whole lot of elusive ideas about the business you’d like to create or art you’d like to sell, I’ll help you clarify your ideas and shape them into a business model that works.
- how to work out what you need to sell, for how much and to who so that you know how you can reach, at least/as a first step, your minimum viable income as an artist/creative. (aka define your income streams and financial plan)
- how to define specifically who your audience is and how to reach them
- structuring your routine and work activities in a way that suits you so that you can get the most important things done, never feel overwhelmed and not burn out. Whether you’re working another job full-time, part-time, have children or are completely open, we’ll find what works for you.
- how to know what is ‘good enough’. A common topic amongst creatives and the self-employed that keeps them stressed and doubting themselves. We define it so you can go to sleep relaxed at night knowing you’ve done your best.
- Soft skills: networking without feeling like you’re networking, defining and communicating boundaries to clients and others, talking about your art or service so that people will say ‘Yes, I want that!’, stress and fear management.
- Procrastination and avoidance: what to do instead.
- what genuine confidence is and how you can access and grow your confidence every day. The focus is on building a solid foundation for yourself, not applying surface level confidence tricks.
- traditional pathways: grants, funding, residencies, portfolios.

When investing in this coaching mini-program I want you to think about how you will create a multiplied return on the value of the program. How will you use this program to increase your quality of life well above the monetary fee you pay? What level of commitment, focus and willingness are you going to show up with? Let’s both show up to the sessions with that level of commitment in mind. I know I’m ready 🙂

“Since Rachel has been coaching me, I have doubled the total of last year’s sales in just the first four months so far, she is amazing!” – Joanne Stead, Visual Artist.
“My short term goal ended up being to write and illustrate a short story within the next month. I felt so energized after our meeting that I was immediately fired up to start writing. I found that having the push of knowing someone was “watching” my progress really helped me stick to the task. I completed the book on time, and looking back I really don’t know if I would have done it without our coaching session.” – Esther, Visual Artist and Illustrator
“Hi Rachel, since our Skype call, I’ve worked towards making networks with other artists to expand my exhibition experience. I currently have two future collaborations that feature local galleries. I also have entered another local art prize which includes exhibiting. And I just reached my yearly goal of making Master of Photography with the AIPP.
